2017 Chrysler Pacifica Review

The first time I laid my eyes upon the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica I thought this:  ‘’Wow this thing looks great!  Wait did I just say a minivan looks great?  WTF is wrong with me!’’  I quickly ran back inside and took a shower to wash the dirty feeling off of my soul. So I needed something large for a family vacation down to Hilton Head.  Since i’m spoiled…I called up Chrysler and they lovingly dropped off this 2017 Pacifica to us and guys I’m in love.  This is the best looking minivan on the road by a large margin.  Shit...

2017 Volkswagen Jetta GLI Review

I’m going to quickly sum up the 2017 Volkswagen Jetta GLI.  As I mentioned before on the 2016 model….this is the best Jetta you can buy.  The other trim levels are just plain disappointing across all categories whereas the GLI is the redeemer.  The champ.  The flagship that helps the Jetta model from sinking into dismal plasticky oblivion. Not much has changed on the 2017 model.  It is still powered by the glorious 2.0 liter turbo’d 4 making 210 horsepower and 207 ft/lbs of torque paired to the fine 6 speed DSG.  This has to be one of the...

2017 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk Review

When the KL Cherokee came out it left some members of the general public going ‘huh?’  It’s curvaceous styling stood in stark contrast to the literal box that was the previous Cherokees.  Fast forward a few years and it has turned into one of the most beautifully styled crossovers on the road.  Now if the design is a little to svelte for you there is this Cherokee Trailhawk trim model.  It injects some testosterone to the Cherokee line and comes with 4WD only, All Terrain Tires, Red recovery hooks, locking rear diff and all the off road goodies you expect...

2017 Mercedes Benz SL450 Review

Sometimes folks….you don’t need the bigger motor.  Hear me out before you start grabbing your pitchforks!  The twin turbo 6 on this 2017 Mercedes Benz SL450 is a pure gem.  It sounds like a V8 on startup, revs like it is a DC motor and has a torque curve as flat as Mike Sanders’ stomach.  Yes the twin turbo V8 offered on the SL550 hauls ass but for the price admission and the absurdity of traffic nowadays…there is much more ‘usable’ power in the SL450.  Now this isn’t our first foray into reviewing this motor.  We reviewed the CLS400 a...

2017 Nissan Maxima Review

Full Disclosure:  My dad had a 1986 Nissan Maxima he kept lovingly for close to 30 years.  She was a member of the family so to say we have a special place in our hearts for the Maxima line tends to be an understatement. For decades the Maxima line has been defined with a simple acronym…4DSC.  For the uninitiated 4DSC stands for 4 Door Sport Car and that moniker was part of the Maxima DNA.  Why wouldn’t it be?  Every Maxima has a Z derived engine, some even came with a manual transmission and always a sporty driving experience....
