Im looking for a good pair of 6x9s but don't know what kind to get. My mom drives an 03 Altima and her stock 6x9s sound amazing, almost as if she has a sub in the car. I need to know what are the best ones you can get for, let say, under $150.

There are tons of choices out there. To mention a few we sell under $150...

DB Drive - Okur Series
Memphis - M Class Series
Polk Audio - DB Series
JL Audio - C2 Series
Alpine - Type R Series

Like I said, this is just a few choices.

I've typically had good luck with JL and Alpine...if you are close you should go to Dynamic Sound and check them out, they'll get you what you need!

personally I don't like the sound of 6x9's.

if you want somethign thats going in the rear of your vehicle tho and you want some kiler bass...

check out parts express. they actually sell a sub thats a 6x9. and I've had ppl who go from having a 10 in their car to just these, and they are louder and sound SO MUCH BETTER. and don't need gobs of power to get loud!

also, something you might want to try is picking up a NICE 4ch. *(which I happen to have a few coming my way) just pm me if your intrested. and I have some setup for demo uses. just a thought.

Thanks everyone! Yeah, all i have in my car is 2 6.5s in the doors and it sucks not having a loud enough system or any bass, especially with my loud ass muffler. Im looking at trying to get a nice clean sound with some decent bass

Seriously.

well, I've built quite a few daily systems, and to be honest. rear speakers are usually just for bass. for my setup. OR if its close enough or happens to need just for midrange.

I think that doing 2 6x9 subs, in the openings, and upgrading the 6.5's to some nice speakers, and adding a 4 ch amp to the aftermarket head unit, your system will have clarity, quality, and depth!

ok so you want to upgrade the back speakers and add a sub ok. well I def have the amp for that. so that you won't need x amount of batteries, and still get a great sound.

infact you could run all your speakers off this one 4 ch. run the driver side off ch 1, and run the passenger side off ch 2, and then run one or 2 subs off ch 3&4 bridged, and it comes with a remote gain knob, so you can tune the bass up or down without changing settings on the amp or hu. all while driving down the street.

i'd say forget the rear fill, you don't sit back there anyways.

get a good amp 4 channel to power the front and bridge 3+4 to power the sub.

you'd be suprised, i run only a set of components up front and a single sub

yeah the only rear fill I have is 2 18's ported 5 inches behind your head.

haha. granted I have 4 sets of components in the doors... off 1 4ch.

but i'd suggest doing a nice component set in the front doors off 1 and 2 and bridge the 3&4 on a single 12~!

If you want Memphis, I would suggest purchasing from an Authorized dealer....

Based on what you have in your car now, you might want to investigate adding the sub(s) BEFORE the rear speakers. The thought process is this: you keep mentioning how you want more bass. Add bass. At that point, you can decide if your mids/highs do (or do not) keep up with the bass.

I agree with a 4-channel amp. You can use it for front and sub. If you add rear fill, you have an option for a further upgrade, which is a separate sub amp.

That's just sad....

The bass you heard in the Miata comes from one Alumapro 12" dual-voice coil sub...

That's 12 years old. :goodjob:

Another company that was big years ago and not so much now but still good quality was Cerwin Vega. I had 6 15" Vega subs in my room all wired together.

Twas crazy.

I am gonna be rocking all Infinity speakers and subs in the teg.
