Got hit by an 8.9 earthquake and a tsunami resulting from said earthquake......... I hope for anyone on here that has friends or family there they are ok!

Been watching some news coverage this morning and some of the video of the tsunami coming in is incredible, I can't imagine being trapped in the path of something like that.

They've been hit by worse......
......at least they are prepared for shit like that. Let an earthquake or tsunami hit Atlanta. It would be this past snow storm all over again....not prepared.

You can't really prepare for a 8.9-9.1 earthquake. (wikipedia says it was a 9.1 and others say 8.9) But, when they have been hit by other earthquakes in the past, they didn't have things to worry about like they do now. IE: nuclear reactors, gas lines breaking underground and causing fires, tsunamis that are affecting countries in the distances, and then saying it actually and literally moved some parts of ... Being hit by worse or not, that's irrelevant. It's definitely a sad thing to see these people suffering, dying, and missing. My heart goes out to anyone affected by this.
