Does anyone ride around daily on racing arms? I've had mine for over 2 years, and I used to clean them to get them to stop squeaking, but I gave up and now just put up with it. I've tried cleaning them without removing them, to no avail. I bought them so I wouldn't have to replace the stock ones anymore, but they sure are noisy! They weren't cheap, ~$500 each from Powerhouse Racing. Makes my car sound cheap....

LOL, you obviously don't have racing control arms. They don't have bushings, which is why they become so noisy. Dirt gets into the crevices of the metal, and starts squeaking like crazy. Mine are adjustable for road course or drag racing. Cool feature, but not pleasant to hear.

Tried re-greasing them if in fact they do have grease present?

Yeah, I usually clean the old grease off, then reapply. To no avail now. They will have to be completely removed and cleaned/greased if I want them to be quiet.

Depending on how hard it is to do it, I can take them off, clean and grease and put them back on.

Honestly, I don't even know if I want to attempt it without the proper equipment. The stock ones before these were hell to get off. I had one person try, and they slipped and chipped my paint. It was a body shop of all freaking places! I had to take it to someone else who said it was an absolute bitch.

It's not for the faint of heart, and honestly, no offense, but I don't trust many people to work on my car due to being burned one too many times. I really appreciate the offer, though!

No worries. Actually was thinking it wasn't that hard but I will take your word from them for it.

Yeah, I may attempt it myself sooner or later, but I'm sure I will give up at the slightest inkling of protest from them. It may not be that hard this time, since they have been loosened within 3 years by someone else.

I'm not slamming you, just stating there's a difference between standard control arms and racing ones. I contacted PHR, and they said all I can do is grease them. Some arms offer a poly end to tone down the noise, but PHR has nothing to offer.

i know you weren't, how about i throw in some ear plugs, could that help j/k

what kind of car. the poly urethane bushings could dry out and make noise. if greasing them does not work, then i really dont know what else could be done. if i knew what kind of car and if they are the upper or lower arms, i may have some more information for you.

They are for racing application, and I've had some racers say they're some crazy looking stuff. No fix except to grease 'em.

I don't see a solution because that's what happens to control arms after while. Get a set for the street that all I can say.
