Normally a crossover like this wouldn’t be news on a site like this. But here’s why it’s significant. What we have here is the new 2024 Lincoln Nautilus. It looks slick. But 1) It’s made in China. 2) The engine is smaller than the outgoing model. 3) It makes less power. 4) It’s more expensive. And 5) The infotainment screen is 4-feet wide.
Take note – Because this is the direction Ford/Lincoln is moving: More expensive vehicles with wimpier engines, bigger screens, & over-the-air updates. And – made in China. Unsurprisingly, Lincoln seems to be omitting that last tidbit of information in their press release, but Car & Driver apparently sniffed it out & I love ’em for it.
2024 Lincoln Nautilus
Base engine = 2.0 turbocharged 4-cylinder making 250 hp with an 8-speed trans. All models, including base, are now AWD.
Hybrid engine = 2.0 turbocharged 4-cylinder with additional hybrid engine making 310hp… with a CVT trans. (The outgoing 2.7 twin-turbo V6 makes 335hp.)
Two 24” screens that join to make a 48” screen.
The 2024 Lincoln Nautilus will likely start over $50,000
