That’s a tough one…all the major players, Super Street, Import Tuner etc, all being owned by the same company, has really hurt the quality of these magazines, it has steadily declined, my fav I guess would have to be Project Tuner Car even though it’s owned by the same company as the previous mags, it seems to be more informative, and gives great information on everyday budget builds, which makes it different from the others under the same banner.
I pick pretty much all of them(including lowrider, motorcycle, and truck magazines) up at the grocery store and look through them. I feel like I might be a little different than most. I am always looking for new ideas.
Honda Tuning is the only one I buy. I like to collect them when my friend’s cars are featured. I also collect any magazine that has an article written by a friend or has photography taken by one of my friends.
I read Super Street because Sean Klingelhoefer is a great photographer who hasn’t sold his style out and does great work.
I read 0-60 for the randomly interesting articles. The article on Dubai in a previous issue was great, and the article about Motorex in the issue before that was interesting.
I read Honda Tuning sometimes if someone I know is in it, but lately I’ve felt a little disappointed by it.
Project Car Magazine is always interesting because it has a totally different vibe.
I don’t keep up with them enough to really have a favorite. Honda Tuning I’ll check out when I have the chance but otherwise I couldn’t be bothered with them
Super Street cuz that was my first mag that i started reading when i got into the game.
I check Honda Tuning and Modified in the stores and online because they publish its easier to access
Sport Compact Car was the only one i really religiously read every month for a long time. they went through a pretty spectacular fall from grace after Primedia/Source took them over, but it will always hold a special place in my heart for it was where i learned the most about imports. Dave Coleman’s tech articles are/were an invaluable resource for a person trying to learn about the mechanics and the nuances of working on an import. At the present moment, I tend to read Top Gear magazine, EuroTuner, and i flip through Modified every once in a blue moon.
I’ve had subscriptions to nearly all of them at some given point in time…right now, I’d say Modified pre-Source Interlink was awesome but they aren’t too bad as they stand now…DSport — lots of great tech articles, although the amount of sponsored cars was starting to go up around the time I didn’t renew my subscription…and Honda-Tuning, even though I’m not a Honda head, it also has great tech articles and still has a grassroots nature to it
I get C&D for the comparos, and I get Motortrend because they practically gave me a subscription (with a free bj). S3 is definitely tops for good looking cars. I am a little disappointed for the lack of a decent Mazda Mag. Most, if not all, are solely rotary. Mazda’s not just a rotary engine user.
I’ve actually got a guy who has a very nice Mazda 3 in fact. He has started a car club too. Let me know if you want his name. I know someone who’s got a nice 1987 Dodge Colt Vista that wishes it ran reliably, was turbo’d, and had a nice low stance. 🙂

I feel that once you have read import tuner or super street once, you’ve read them all.
I realized i didnt answer the question…..I have a subscription to honda tuning….they’ve definately come a long way!

We get HT, Modified and Banzai at the shop.
I scan through all of them.

I
… cut me off.
I dig some of the cars in Modified over what you may see in Super Street or Import Tuner most the time, but not all the time.
none cause they owe me $$$$$

i stopped reading Import Tuner after they stopped making Max Boost comics

^^^^find me a sick Mazda and we’ll feature that bish. =)
^^^^ (non rotary) I know somebody’s got to have a nice mazda 3 out there.
