any chance you guys are finally going to feature the grafitti ek track car from ohio? there are alot of us who have been waiting on the feature. We were lucky enough to meet the owner at IA atlanta and saw him again at IA Nashville. I really hope so, i gotta give you props lately on featuring cars before they show up in other mags but to me that also means your featuring the same stuff as the other magazines, and that was one reason i started reading S3, because you didnt feature the same cars as the other sell out magazines.
Please S3 continue to feature cars that not everyone gets but can respect the work and intention of the builders. because unfortunately if not your going to loose some readers. I understand if you dont publish this comment, however if not im going to quit reading the mag, because it obviously means that you dont care about your readers input. give some love to the guys that think outside the box. please S3 continue to be the mag that supports the guys who support you and the hobby.
Greg,
We only do four issues a year. Four. 4. We all like the story of the car with the swap, etc… but it’s not up to the build quality
that we *try* to have in the magazine. That doesn’t mean it’s not a cool car. That doesn’t mean it’s not a unique story. But
there are a lot of other hondas with unique stories and amazing builds. Ol’ Gregg Buccell, and my self are both
building cars and we realize that it is unlikely that our own cars will ever be featured in s3. Why? Because there are tons of hondas out there that have done it all before. If you seriously don’t want to subscribe to s3 because of that reason and dont
understand that- Fine. Not my problem.
joe first off thanks for thinking my car is cool i appreciate it, im hoping after this winter we can work out a time for you to shoot it, ill even drive up there and buy you lunch and talk shop. and steve just wait till this year. after picking up a few sponsors this winter and lots of things being addressed that just unfortunately got looked over last year the team along with our sponsors feel that the car will be top notch and it should appeal to all in one way or another. without going in to too much detail the cage is being replaced/upgraded to full scca status with a few extras. we are now sponsored by Top1 USA and will be running all of their re-designed parts this year. There will be a custom dash which i promise you will not see in another honda, thanks to wilwood the brakes will be adressed along with the paint which will be taken care of in a more toned down unique fashion. i promise that the car will no longer leave anyone with a something lacking feeling. if at any time you see the car or me at an event it would be my pleasure to talk with you about it or the backround and that goes for anyone interested.
Greg i appreciate the support however i will even admit that Joe and Steve are right and the car was lacking and did get rushed due to time constraints and just flat out issues that arose during the car being put together. I do hope though that after the S3 guys get a chance to see it at the summer IA that it will be good enough for the magazine. Its my goal to get the car in eventually and I will continue to support S3 magazine with or without a feature. Greg you should also do the same. remember man these guys have normal jobs and i know sometimes struggle to get by, make it to events, build cars and put out a quality magazine on quality paper and still do subscriptions at a rate that im sure barely covers the cost of making one issue out of your year subscription on each. They have to put the best cars possible in the mag to gain more readers and im all for the only magazine who cares about the enthusiast getting larger and doing a monthly magazine.
Greg if you want to read about the car there is a small feature on our blog, we will also have a build thread on nwp4life and currently have one on jdmuniverse and update the blog as things come along. you can check it out here, http://functiongarage.wordpress.com/
i would appreciate if this post is approved just so people can understand where im comming from and also see that getting a mag feature isnt the most important thing when building a car its enjoying the time that goes in and the joy from driving/tracking/showing it.
I love burn outs. I’m a ricer.

Have a nice day.
I’ve seen that “track” EK and it leaves a bit to be desired. I can’t wait to read about the above burnout machine.
