Check this out: Mini announced that this car was going to go into production. This is the concept, so the final version will almost certainly be diluted a bit. But it’s going to be a two seater. It’s going to sit low (the concept is only 53.4 inches tall). Production models will probably see 170ish hp with a turbo 1.6. Sticker price of $36,000. For more info, hit autoweek.com
damn you DSM driving bastard…i was going to post that!
either way…
i want it.
Let me be the first to say: $36,000???? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
yeah….about that.
i’d buy a used evo x for that much.
or a used S4.
Or a 49 Mercury.
I can’t wait to see this thing slammed on BBS
Or a very gently used Boxter S
Or 36,000 QT hot dogs.
^only you cody lol
Its a mini with a sporty roof… somehow, it just doesn’t flow. Its like my Dad wearing a FUBU shirt.
Somebody on autoweek.com said it looked like one of those stupid kids hats with the spinny propellers on it…. he said they just just complete the look and add one on. I laughed. But honestly – I like the looks of it. Can’t lie.
Seems about 100hp and 2-more-wheel-drive short though for the price. The only people I see buying it for $36,000 are non-enthusiast, single, hairdressers, with a studio-condo in South Beach. And they’ll probably just lease it.
it needs to be priced around mid 20s….to go against the Civic SI, GTI, MS3 and others.
Yesterday, After seeing a Mini in traffic, I decided that the “Mini” now is no where near as awesome as the OLD mini.
Seeing a classic mini cooper makes me smile. The new ones.. eh. The novelty of it wore off when you started to see
them on the regular.
The concept is pretty interesting. It looks as if some one chopped the top of a mini and went crazy.
Wooley, it’s funny you mention that, everyone in Miami has a Mini, hahaha
In response to Yousef’s second comment… Evo IV > Evo X.
36,000… I’d buy a used Speed3 and leave the other 22,000 in the bank.
