According to an article on The Drive, the ‘last-hoorah’ 6.4-liter Hemi Chrysler 300C sold out in just 12 hours. Well that oughta tell you something lol. And if you don’t speak the language, I’ll translate: Americans want these gnarly V8-powered muscle cars. Sure – not ALL American’s want them… but enough sure do. Because in this case, it’s not some vague new EV that got a bunch of $100 deposits after a smoke-&-mirrors reveal. We’re talking about a Chrysler sedan that’s been around for good minute already. Over 10 years. And it’s STILL selling out in 1/2 a day, simply because Mopar dropped a more potent, crispier V8 in it.

Now the question is: Would the 6.4-liter Chrysler 300C still be selling out so fast if the end wasn’t in sight? Would the demand be as high if all these hot-sauce muscle cars weren’t getting taken off the table for EV salads? Probably not. So maybe we can just chalk it up to a window of opportunity closing. Or maybe… maybe it’s this: People who love cars are watching the automotive industry neuter itself to appease people who don’t like cars. And it’s causing us to jump out & buy our last new vehicle for the foreseeable future. Either way, it’s a clear indication of what a good number of car buyers actually want… versus what they’re gonna be getting in coming years.
