ST Suspensions… born & bred in California (as Suspension Techniques) & manufactured in Germany, is celebrating their 45th anniversary. In the ’80s & ’90s… Suspension Techniques came out of Southern California and helped create & define what would become ‘the import scene’. California dreamin’ baby; it felt so real!
My first job as a teenager… was at an auto-parts store in the mid ’90s. I vividly remember flipping through the special-order catalog, seeing the photos of decked-out ST-equipped imports shot under California palm trees. Then I’d look across the parking lot at my silver MK1 GTI on BBSs, sitting there next to my buddy’s white targa-top MK3 Supra Turbo… and it would all just sink in & ignite me.
There was no instagram, no influencers, no ‘like & subscribes’… yet we all knew we were a part of something. It’s cool to get that wave of nostalgia from time to time… and to be reminded that ST is still out here, creating & innovating for the enthusiast nation. 45-years strong!
