The Lexus TX 350 has an aura about it! To the point where I felt like I was being punk’d lol. No disrespect to the Lexus TX – it’s a very nice vehicle, I’ll say that up front. Sophisticated, spacious, and well-built. But can we just be real for a second?? In a world FULL of cookie-cutter SUVs… it’s another SUV. So why are people so magnetically drawn to this vehicle?

One of our school friends was absolutely gushing over this Lexus TX…

The color combination had her starry-eyed. For the record, it’s Matador Red Mica with Birch interior. And she poured over it like I’d pour over the Toyota GR GT if I saw one in the driveway… saying that the Lexus TX was her favorite car. Ok cool.

Then as I came out of a better version of Chipotle (Surcheros IYKYK) I overheard a woman end her call prematurely, saying, “Hey let me call you back.” She turned to me and said, “I know this is weird, but would you mind if I take a look at your car? It’s beautiful!” Obviously I gave her the full tour. She explained that she’d been working hard, paid off her student loans… and it was time to treat herself. And just like our school friend, she was totally smitten with the color combination, the dash, screen, seats, textures, all of it! It made me smile to see this woman so happy about a car that there were probably 2-3 more of within a mile. The way she sat in this Lexus TX 350, is the way Ferris Bueller sat in the Ferrari.

But what really threw me, was my brother-in law. My brother-in-law operates a Matco tool truck. He drives a Ford F250 & an LJ Jeep Wrangler. The kind of guy that plans-out his grilling strategy for the 4th of July (It’ll make you wanna slap your mama BTW). Heck, the dude can build a house from scratch – you get the picture. And he looked at the Lexus TX… the same way Marty McFly looked at the black 4×4. I legitimately think he’s going to buy a Lexus TX 350.

As an automotive editor & a lifelong car enthusiast…

I find it totally intriguing (and a bit amusing) how the Lexus TX draws such attention. I mean – it’s not the rarest of breeds, and it’s been out for a solid couple years now. It’s “just another SUV” in a market already dominated by SUVs. Yet when folks experience the Lexus TX up close, it’s like they’re seeing a new concept for the very first time. Then I figured it out…

The Lexus TX 350 is a blending of worlds

It has the presence, sophistication, quality, and serenity of a Lexus. Combined with the spaciousness, convenience, and travel-ease of a minivan. It’s got all the practicality of the Toyota Grand Highlander, with the luxury dials turned-up just bit more. The Lexus TX 350 is both head turning, yet understated. And I’m honestly not sure if there’s a better family highway/roadtrip vehicle.

The Lexus TX is even more spacious than it lets on to be…

If you’re car shopping online & comparing 3rd rows, cargo space, & cubic feet… do yourself a favor and go see the Lexus TX 350 in person. Because – numbers & measurements don’t tell the full story here. Captains seats on the 2nd row – mean that 4 people can ride long distances in complete comfort with more than enough room for all their luggage & belongings. The Lexus TX 350 is what I would classify as a true 3rd row vehicle… not a 2-row SUV with a 3rd row shoved-in to check a box. Even with the 3rd-row up, you have ample space for groceries & daily living.

The Lexus TX 350 has presence & class…

And it’s also easier to drive than a full-size SUV – I’m thinking Tahoe, Yukon, and/or Expedition here. Don’t get me wrong, I like the current Expedition a lot. But the Lexus TX 350 drives more agile & gracefully than those type of body-on-frame vehicles. It’s easier to steer, doesn’t body-roll, has better overall visibility, and is easier to maneuver in parking lots, easier to get in/out of, squeeze in the garage, etc. I think for a lot of buyers out there, the Lexus TX 350 ends up being Goldilocks – just the right fit. But wait, there’s more lol.

The Lexus TX 350 is quiet

It’s remarkably serene in the cabin. And I don’t mean detached or dead-to-the-world. But rather – the perfect amount of noise-cancellation. A Lexus interior is absolutely a refuge from the chaos of the outside world. Just for a real example: We pulled into a resort in St. Simons around 10pm. As we pulled up, we could see there was some sort of event/activity going on in the green-space under a canopy. We opened the doors – and all the sudden holy cow it was jammin’ out there! Turns out – it was some NFL player’s wedding… and it was absolutely turnt lol! But – we didn’t hear any of that! Not a peep, until we cut the car off & opened the doors. It reminded me of the scene from Ace Ventura. And wow – that’s THREE iconic gen-x movie references in one article.

The Lexus TX 350 is the answer…

For a lot of people/families who want a luxurious yet useable vehicle that prioritizes quality & honesty over gimmicks. It takes weight off your shoulders, and offers that refuge from a hectic life with never-ending errands & schedule changes. Here’s the thing about Toyota/Lexus: They’re intentional. They make cars for all walks of life, and they nail it almost every time. And – they still have bloodline running the company – so reputation matters! Lexus saw the need for a premium 3-row vehicle that keeps up with the pace of modern family life… and they delivered.
