I was recently given the opportunity to participate in the Cars At The Capitol event hosted by SEMA & PRI. My car, a 1995 3000GT Spyder (previously featured in S3) was included as part of a 9-vehicle display hosted on Capitol Hill. What an experience!

This diverse display of automotive culture was part of SEMA & PRI’s Washington DC Rally.

It’s an event that gives the automotive aftermarket community the unique opportunity to meet with our congressmen & women. Allowing us the chance to share our stories, perspective, & points-of-view over growing restrictions & regulations that threaten our industry.

I’ve been to countless car shows over the years…

But this event was truly a special experience. Throughout the day, I had the absolute pleasure of meeting several major industry stakeholders, including Mike Spagnola (CEO of SEMA), Michael Good (President of PRI), and tuner car legend RJ de Vera (VP of Marketing for SEMA). Being able to shake hands with these amazing ambassadors of our industry was such an incredible honor. Especially in front of The Capitol!

RJ de Vera (and me lol)!! Also fun-fact: He’s the guy playing GT in his car before the race in the original Fast & Furious.

For anyone feeling called to fight for automotive culture…

Check out the SEMA Action Network. Collectively, we need our voice to be heard. And it never hurts to get involved and represent what you believe in!

Huge thanks to: Alicia Steger of SEMA, for coordinating this event, and for her hospitality.
