Government agencies bring us one stop closer to the colorless world of communism. The Federal Highway Administration (a division of the Department of Transportation) has decided that highway road signs with funny messages are a no-go: Citing that witty signs may be misunderstood and/or ‘take longer’ for dumb drivers to mentally process. So there we go again… suppressing intelligence to even further cater to the lowest common denominator on our roadways.
These signs had the opportunity to brighten people’s day while simultaneously creating more alert & attentive drivers. But now… states have 2 years to phase out the funny.
