These car dealership markups (aka ‘price adjustments’) have gotten pretty out-of-hand. It’s hurting the new car buying experience. And consumers are becoming increasingly irritated with car manufacturers AND dealerships in general. Ford & GM are responding… by threatening to hold back top-tier, sought-after models from dealers that get too greedy with pricing. Ok fine, good luck, we hope it works.
But GM is actually taking it a step further & targeting individuals that buy these cars & put in early orders…. with the SOLE PURPOSE of flipping them for substantial profit immediately upon delivery. GM is saying that they will VOID THE WARRANTY on these key flagship vehicles (like the Z06, Escalade V, and Hummer) if the cars are flipped within the first year of ownership. Is that over-stepping, is that even legal, and/or is that totally a badass ballsy move?
