Fall of 1991: My mom takes her 1990 Civic to the Honda dealership for service. I ride with her so I can look at the new cars & grab all the sales brochures. Then… it happened. I saw my literal dream car right there on the showroom floor.

As a kid with pure eyes for the world, I’d never seen such a beautifully shaped car. Here we are in 2026, and I still feel the same way. That day in the dealership…

I said, “One day I’ll own one of these”…
And in 1997, after graduating high school, I bought my mom’s 1992 Si hatchback… in Flint Black Pearl no less. Those of you who’ve known me forever, know that my wife also had a ’92 Civic Si hatchback in black too. We both had B-swaps, lowered on Rota Circuit 8s, etc.

So today, when people ask me “Is that Civic for sale?”
I can honestly tell them “No, because this is my all-time favorite chassis.” And I mean it. Yeah, I might be dumb for loving this shape so much. But I do – and I’m forever unapologetic about it. What’s your favorite car?
