We’ve all seen them – the 1,200–2,000 horsepower dyno-queens that light up Instagram and YouTube. They shoot flames, scream on rollers, and make fantastic sharable content. But try driving one to work on a Tuesday morning, and you’ll question your sanity by the 2nd red light. These cars are often uncomfortable, overbuilt, temperamental, and needy. And behind the curtains – most of them live in a near-constant state malfunction, downtime, & credit card swipes. They’re the heroes of your screen and cars-&-coffee, but there’s a reason you don’t see ‘em much in the real world outside of that. Vlad’s MK4 Toyota Supra takes a different & more throwback approach. Because…

What if you could have the power without the compromise?
Meaning, what if you could keep/save everything that made the MK4 Toyota Supra so desirable to begin with… and still have performance that hits like a battering ram? That’s exactly how Victory Motorsports approached this MK4 Supra build.

A MK4 Toyota Supra built for the drive, not the dyno…
This MK4 Supra isn’t a one-trick pony, and it was’t just built to chase a number. At 860 horsepower, this Supra has more than enough power to get your attention. But – it still starts, idles, and drives like a normal Supra. As Bryan Dyer from Victory Motorsports puts it, “It sounds and behaves like it should – right up until you lay into it.”

The difference is intent…
When you’re building an iconic car like the MK4 Toyota Supra – are you chasing a follower-count, or are you chasing a feeling? Why do we build these cars? I think it’s because we imagine living with them. Wind in your hair, power at your fingertips. Boost surging. The excitement of being alive. We get a vision (or a taste) of raw, exhilarating freedom behind the wheel… and it consumes us.

This MK4 Toyota Supra was built so you could…
Get in it, throw the targa top in the back, point it towards California, and drive. Cold A/C, OEM-type comfort, and the car’s true soul – all still intact. No rituals – no drama – just a MK4 Supra the way it should be. One that feels right whether you’re cruising, or committing. Sure, they could have chased a bigger number like a greyhound chases a rabbit. But instead, Victory Motorsports built the Supra you actually wanna take the long way home in.

Why This Supra Matters…
Well, this Supra didn’t lose the plot chasing a number. And unfortunately, losing the plot has become all too common in today’s automotive landscape – from the aftermarket/culture side… right down to the OEMs themselves. It’s like we collectively forgot what a sports car is… and/or how driving should feel. Raw horsepower is great, but not at the expense of connection. And in our tech-driven obsession with stats, specs, and superficial bragging rights… we lost the emotional love affair with our sports cars. We’ve got turn-key 800hp SUVs & trucks now. BMW M cars that go like a fighter jet… but weigh as much as an aircraft carrier. And simultaneously, we’ve got EVs that’ll smoke ’em all while the driver sips a Starbucks. So if we’re being honest, the word fast has lost some of its meaning, right? Where are the roots of it? And where’s the real culture in car culture?

What makes this MK4 Supra special…
Is that nothing was sacrificed (tangible or emotional) to hit that magic number. The creature comforts are intact. It’s not a stripped-down street car with a roll cage. And the 860 horsepower isn’t the kind that has you sweating the gauges at the first sign of traffic. Rather – it behaves smoothly and predictably, until you decide otherwise. Reliability was baked into this Supra build from the start – with cooling, fueling, and tuning handled the right way so it never feels fragile. It’s a driver’s car – made to be daily driven. Something anyone can jump into, turn the key, and actually enjoy.

The Hardware Behind the Philosophy…
The heart of this MK4 Toyota Supra is a non-VVTi 2JZ-GTE. It’s got a Victory Stage-2.5 bottom-end by Mazworx, topped with a Victory Stage-2 head running a full GSC cam & spring package (GSC S1 cams), and Real Street nitrided shimless buckets.

Airflow is handled with a GReddy Pro Surge intake manifold…
Along with a SupraStore Pro-Series twin-scroll exhaust manifold and an HPT 6466 ball-bearing turbo. Boost control comes from a Turbosmart HyperGate 45 Gen-V wastegate, paired with a Turbosmart RacePort blow-off valve.
Cooling is equally intentional, thanks to Victory’s own 4-inch intercooler and a full suite of Powerhouse Racing components – with brushless fans, upgraded hoses, overflow, and supporting hardware throughout.

Power is delivered through a…
Grannas Racing T56 transmission conversion with a McLeod RST twin-disc clutch. It’s strong enough to handle the power, but civil enough to enjoy. A Kaaz 1.5-way differential helps put that power to the pavement. And Fortune Auto FA500 coilovers, CCW Classic “MK4 spec” wheels, and Mickey Thompson ET Street R tires keep everything planted.

Supporting modifications…
Like a Fluidampr crank pulley, a Powerhouse Racing modified oil pump, upgraded engine mounts, differential bushings, and a full 4-inch stainless exhaust round out a setup that feels cohesive, not cobbled together. Control comes from a Victory-spec Tweak’d engine harness and a Link G4X engine management package, running Victory Motorsports’ complete MK4 fuel system with 1650cc injectors.
And because this Supra is meant to be regularly driven, it features a brand-new OEM Toyota A/C system and new OEM Toyota accessories. Ice-cold A/C. Hot heat. No excuses not to take it out.

Numbers are cool, but experience is better…
On E85 at 32 psi, this MK4 Toyota Supra puts down 860 horsepower. And it’s backed by traction control, launch control, rolling anti-lag, flex-fuel capability, and five selectable boost settings. More importantly, it runs perfectly. Not “good for what it is.” Not “manageable if you’re careful.” Just genuinely sorted.

This MK4 Toyota Supra…
Is a vehicle built to the desires & dreams of its owner. It’s not built to entertain the internet. And it reminds us that the best builds often aren’t the loudest, or the most extreme. Rather, they’re the ones that hit the sweet spot. The ones you actually want to drive. With all this YouTube trending unusable horsepower, and content being made for the sake of algorithms & attention… Vlad & Victory Motorsports built something refreshingly rare. A Supra that delivers real performance, real comfort, and real enjoyment. When you picture yourself owning a MK4 Supra… that’s how you picture it, right? You don’t picture it owning you.
