E3 Spark Plugs

This is a public service announcement to all my car nerds out there. You need to diversify your car portfolio.

I have a weird rule: A single car can’t do just one task. For example, my “race” car? It has to be able to get me to work in a pinch. It also must be able to pass the Downtown Test. Can I drive this thing an hour into downtown Chicago without dying, breaking down, or having my wife threaten me mid-commute? If the answer’s no, I’ve gone too far or underthought it. Probably both.

The LX570 and Its Strange New Life

Take my LX570. It’s a Lexus Land Cruiser with extra leather. I bought it for one vacation. Used it once. Now it’s my go-to for backroad detours & mild mud-bogging with track friends.

Do I need a dedicated rig? Not really. Could I get one? Sure, James did. He picked up a clapped-out Jeep for $2,000, threw some absurd tires on it, and now it’s his “I might flip this thing” weekend toy.

But even that’s not necessary. Seth rolled up in a blue Subaru. He drove it from Texas to Alaska in a few days – didn’t complain once. And he still takes it off-road. Still out there with us.

You Don’t Need Perfect – You Just Need to Go.

You don’t need the perfect setup. And you don’t need all the parts. You just need something that runs and a reason to go somewhere.

Take a road trip. Load your friends in the tow-pig and see who gets stuck first. Bring the car you’ve been wrenching on all winter and throw it into something unexpected.

Life’s too short to be stuck waiting for your parts list to be “done”.
Put the phone in the glove box. Stop scrolling. Start driving.

And – bring a camera. I want to see the good stuff.
