This Saturn Sky Redline is hands down one of the coolest cars in my opinion. It grabs ALL your senses, and that’s what it’s all about. Sky’s have always been eye-catching… with a slick design, drop top, RWD, turbo option, and a good price range. But – they just got caught-up in the wrong place in the wrong time (as did the Solstice & G8). A day late & a dollar short. Even today, the Saturn stigma still sits heavy. Paul Clark didn’t care. And when the engine gave him problems, he did the ultimate Toyota 2JZGTE swap-up!
JDM spec 2JZGTE engine from a Toyota Aristo.
ARP head studs, main bolts and rod bolts.
Sound performance twin scroll header to a Borg Warner s366 twin scroll .91 A/R turbo.
4″ stainless steal turbo-back with center outlet custom made by Stephen Baker at Baker Motor Source.
3″ aluminum piping turbo-forward through a CX Racing 3x12x24 intercooler into the stock modified throttle body & stock intake manifold. Custom made jointly by Stephen Baker & Danny Camacho of Amplified Autosports.
Engine cooling is through a Griffin dual core all-aluminum radiator and a Mishimoto high flow electric race fan.
Custom radiator, a/c condenser, and intercooler brackets were made for engine clearance.
The fuel system was completely replaced in favor of a return style system. It starts with an in-tank Walbro 450 pump, plumbed with -8 an lines to an Aeromotive in-line fuel filter. Then off to 6 2000cc Bosch injectors in a 2-in-1 out billet aluminum fuel rail. Fuel pressure is controlled by an Aeromotive 1000 fuel pressure regulator into a -8 return line.
The drive line is the stock Saturn transmission, drive shaft, and rear end… but modified with a Toyota 1JZ bell housing. The Toyota R154 bell housing will fit right up to that Sky tranny… you’ve just gotta change the guts. The flywheel is a chromoly 2JZ piece mated to a 7m-gte ACT HD pressure plate with use of a custom splined 6-puck ceramic clutch disk.

18×10 Forgestar F14s custom drilled for the 5×110 Saturn hubs.
Tires are 275/40/18 Nitto 555.
Suspension is lowered on a custom coilover setup made by BC Racing, with spring rates and valving specific to the added weight of the 2JZ.
Brakes are Wilwood 4-piston big brake kit.
