Honda is ending their Civic Si and Integra A-Spec models, siting government regulation. That seems a little odd, since government regulation seems to be clearly relaxing under the current administration. It’s an excuse that seems a little 2022-ish to me. Truth is: The Civic Si and Integra are largely lackluster… & missing the mark on BOTH style & price to be honest. Killing them honesty isn’t a blow to car culture. But it IS 2 less manual transmission new cars we can buy… making new manual options even more endangered.
Maybe (benefit of the doubt) – Honda & Acura is just pausing to huddle-up & bring back something more worthy, like K-series/VTEC again… in head-turning coupes and/or hatchbacks. The youth is ready for an icon again. Will Honda deliver? Or will they Prelude it?
