There's more to the word 'sport' - than just specs & performance

Notice the trend here: Modern $60,000+ performance cars usually just end up numbing your connection to the road. Most of these new $7,000+ mountain bikes numb-out the trails. And these $25,000 jet skis numb your connection to the water. Do they perform well? Sure, no one’s denying that. But there’s much more depth to the word ‘sport’… than just specs & performance.

We’re living in a time of unchartered territory…

Where technology is replacing the substance, learning process, & skill-development of lifelong hobbies. And now more than ever, we need to be conscious of that. Hobbies & passions that used to enrich human lives, are easily becoming shallow & fast-to-fizzle. And these electronic devices in the palm of our hands, are putting huge pressure on us to keep up with internet flexes… flexes that are often fabricated. We don’t have to play that game. The truth is – technology has overdone it so much in recent years, that now it’s on us to know where that line is. The line of fulfillment & contentedness. And maybe that line it’s different for all of us… but personally??

I would rather spend more time…

Enjoying a $10,000 FUN PROJECT CAR that I can actually FEEL… than spend overtime at the office looking out the window at the leased BMW I’m about to sit in traffic with. And to that same point, I’d rather spend more time actually in the woods, even if it’s on a cheaper & simpler mountain bike… exercising my mind, body & soul. And I’d rather spend more time restoring a retro standup Jet Ski & learning to ride it… than financing some 3-person sit-down water couch they ‘call’ a jet ski.

It’s not easily in a world where social media is constantly fighting for your thoughts. But stay on your True North, and prioritize what really brings value & substance to your life.
